This project was long, challenging, and very exciting. The homeowner wanted to keep as much of the natural stones that were onsite as possible, mixing old home elements with a new modern design.

Project Stats

  • Project Length: 415 Man Hours
  • Added Space: 2,600 Sqf
  • Notable Features:  Belgard step units, Arizona natural flagstone for the patio, 24” square wood deck tiles, and concrete.
  • Location: Highland Acres

The space previously had 3 large spruce trees that were cut down, leaving a wide-open area to play with. Since the back had a total slope of 12 feet, this allowed for multiple seating areas to be incorporated. We used 32 Belgard step units throughout the job, Arizona natural flagstone for the patio, 24” square wood deck tiles, and concrete to save the homeowner on some expenses.

With all these elements of materials, it caused some challenges. Everything had to be perfectly measured and installed or the design was going to have gaps between the wood and the concrete.

In order to make sure that the customers were happy with the project we really took our time on this one. There were a lot of small details that needed to be looked at very carefully.

Even though this landscape had some challenges we were able to push forward and give our clients a beautiful backyard where they can relax and enjoy life. Everything turned out the way it should and is now one of the company’s favorite projects.
